Dark brown rum distilled from molasses. Aged in used whisky and bourbon barrels.
Matured casks of rums are blended then recasked in younger barrels at a lower proof. After maturing a second time, this rum is bottled at 'barrel proof.'
Bottled at 45% alcohol by volume.
Sniffing brings out well developed aromas including a refreshing sweetness from cane, a little earthiness and alcohol, hints of oak and golden raisin, butterscotch, pecan and just a touch of fresh coconut. Read more from Roger at RnD Rum Reviews
