After selling his internet business, Marcos de Moraes turned his entrepreneurial spirit to his favorite drink, cachaça. His goal was to make a better product and bring the 4th most consumed alcoholic spirit to the front of the world's conscious. Recognizing that aged and unaged cachaça are two different products, Marcos set about designing and building a still to produce a cachaça with a particular flavor profile for his unaged Sagatiba Pura cachaça. Raised in the Passos region of Minas Gerais, the Brazilian state best known for cachaça, Nahor Gustavo has spent more than 10 years researching all aspects of production and is known as one of Brazil’s foremost experts in his field. After joining the Sagatiba team, Nahor Gustavo worked with engineers, chemists and cachaça experts to develop the proprietary multi-distillation process and is now responsible for every batch of Sagatiba cachaça that is bottled.
