I have a bottle but I haven't opened it yet. Been working on some RL Seale's 10 YO. I've lost a bit of interest in the "spiced" rums as of late. Might have to start revisiting them.

Sorry, I can't take your side on this one, but be of good cheer: my friend from allthingswhisky.com just adores the Kraken, even though, as a peathead, he doesn't acknowledge rums exist, and doesn't review them.

Kraken in my opinion is fun. It's not what I prefer if I'm only going to have a couple of drinks, but if I am looking to have a great time at a party with friends, then Kraken is my go to rum of choice.

Although I feel I should also mention I have not had a bottle last longer than two weeks once opened so that must obviously be saying something about it. (I have however managed to hold onto the last few shots from the bottle I got for Christmas)

I would go into more detail but I think insomnia browsing the forum might not be quite the best time for spur of the moment rum reviews.

Thumbs up

Completely agree with the "fun" description. It's my favorite for tailgating.

Default Release the Kracken & Hide your Kids & Sheep!

Their are few rums I have tasted that are more viciously intoxicating than this dark devil's brew. Intrigued by the dual finger rings, I had a shot and had to chase it with second shot to stop the syrupy Pertussin like burn. Before I could blink twice I was howling at the moon...then I woke up! Now I understand the meaning of "Inception", it is the Kracken within!

I had some on the rocks at my local pub about a week ago just so I could respond to your post. At this point all I can say is that it is different. I need to do further research. I'll try it again straight on ice and mix with coke and report back. Thanks for this assignment.
