Bars that appreciate RUM |
A growing number of bars appreciate rum, and and we appreciate them. |

The Ocean Club in West Vancouver
My wife and I went here last night for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised that the Rum menu wasn't disappointing. I took a photo of it with my cell so excuse the quality... They also have a heated covered patio that you can smoke your cigar of choice on... Also worth mentioning they have one hell of a Mac & Cheese. It was a nice place and I will be going back.

looks like almost the same selection they have in their liquor store in Park Royal. They have a couple of bottles that I haven't seen in the govt liquor stores. Matusalem Gran Reserva is a very nice sipper. I haven't tried the Cruzan Estate Diamond, but I love their Single Barrel!
BTW, I can't say that I have ever ordered Mac 'n' Cheese at a restaurant that looks like that one! Usually it is only found on the kids menu! It's a bold move to put it out as an adult entree!

Ya I love Mac and cheese Rob Feenie has it on his menu also. Its a great adult dish made with very very rich cheeses. If you loved the dish as a kid you'll love it as an adult.

My co-workers rave about the "Mac and Cheese" at Burgoo (at the bottom of Lonsdale)...don't mean to start a fight, but they say it is the BEST!

That is the best selection I've seen at a restaurant here so far; I'll have to give it a try next time I'm in the area.

I'll defintiely have to check this place out, as I work on the North Shore.
Nice find Mr. Curoswiss!
The only other place I found any other non-standard (read: bacardi-type) rums was at Havana on Commercial where they had some Matusalem.

There's also The Reef caribbean restaurant, which has two locations, one on Main, the other on Commercial. Their website drink menu mentions Barbancourt 15, Flor De Cana 12, Pyat 15, Santa Teresa 1796, Murray McDavid 14, Goslings Family Reserve. I think the older Main St location may have a couple more selections.

Man, I used to live near the Reef on Main St. and had been there a few times. Didn't know about the rum though.
I guess I'll have to head back to my old stomping grounds.
As for the food, I think its passable Caribbean fare, but have heard less than impressed opinions from friends.
