Default Angostura 1919

Waitrose has slashed the price of Angostura 1919 again. It is now just over Ј15 a bottle, having been previously reduced from Ј23 to Ј18.

Not my favourite rum by any stretch of the imagination, but "each to his own".

All the Waitrose special offers run till 6th January 2009. My local Waitrose (West Ealing, London) doesn't have the English Harbour 5 year old any longer, but I understand that the central London stores (such as J Lewis's Foodhall) still have it.

I bought a bottle at a Waitrose while I was over for the Rumfest for the 23 pound price. It only lasted two nights!! It retails here for $23US.

It's a very good price for the 1919. I still have a couple of bottles of it left from the last time it was on offer at £15 in Waitrose.

I wonder if they might put the 1824 on offer at some point? At the regular price of £40 I think it's a little on the expensive side.

My local Waitrose (Putney) still has the English Harbour.
