Default Amazing single cask rums from plantation

I just got a haul of rums new single cask editions from California hand selected by the seller. These are all 750 ML bottles.

The haul:

Plantation 1989 Trinidad single cask 24 year old - cask 7/9 - bottle 372/450

Plantation 1999 Trinidad single cask 14 year old - Banyuls and sherry finish cask 4/4 - Bottle 115/300

Plantation single Cask Guatemala XO - Pineau des charentes Finish - Cask 13/13 - Bottle 279/300

Plantation Panama 2002 - 10+ years old

Also other additions I bought due to lack of availability around here

Zafra Master 21 year

Papas Pilar 24 Dark

I also just located a single cask Guyana rum that I'm going to be ordering today with a few other goodies.

I'm also on the look out for plantation rums: St. Lucia old reserve, Grenada old reserve, Nicaragua old reserve, and single cask Guadalupe, The rest I have to my knowledge at least those available in the states. If anyone has any leads on these rums that can be shipped from the seller to NY, let me know. I am looking for 750 ml American market bottles to complete my collection and am only looking to purchase inside the states.

I just got word that several other plantation rums are on their way into the US. The new 2005 Guyana just arrived and should be available shortly here. I was informed that St. Lucia was not imported into the US and is my sole missing rum from this lineup all others have been found and are on their way.

Its funny you mention that about the St Lucia one... I as well am just missing that one from their line up.... also missing quite a bit of the single cask selections as I only have 6 of them... but if you're still loking for the Guadeloupe single cask we still have a few left here in Montreal! !!!

Good hunting!

Cheers

It is now the sole missing bottle from the old reserve I do not have. I even have many different vintage years from the old reserves. Maybe I'll cross the boarder to get the St Lucia and Guadalupe as the last bottle I could buy online was sold the day before my order sadly. I live right near the boarder of Canada near Ontario. I don't know about the stores around there though or where to go the internet does not seem to have much info.

sorry for the late reply. In California from hi-time. There are other stores that seem to carry their stock but they imported these bottles and the bottles bear their store name. Incredible pricing on these also. If you ever make it out there I also suggest picking up a cask 1703 and maybe one of Ed hamiltons offerings.

Have you cracked open the Papas Pilar Dark yet? Curious to know your thoughts. I tried it in a bar and was unimpressed. The marketing states bold strong flavor. I found it to be light and uninteresting. I'm always suspicious of product that uses somebody famous in the brand name. And now theres a Sinatra Jack Daniels.

This is high on my list to try in my collection but I have yet to taste this. I am surprised by your thoughts. I personally am a huge fan of rums that use sherry casks and enjoy that flavor profile on my palate. These types of rums are very smooth and subdued but have much flavor to them. I would most closely peg this similar to that of a Ron Botran 1893 or Brugal 1888 if I had to guess that is.

Default Papa's Pilar Dark

I tried mine this weekend and found it to have a full, rich flavor, with spice and sweetness. Still quite smooth. I decided it would make a great winter sipper.
