Would this be a good glass for sipping rum?

I received 2 of these Glencairn Nosing & Tasting Crystal Glasses. Would they be considered good glasses for sipping rum? Or what glasses do you recommend? Thank you for your help

They'll do just fine. They're almost the same exact shape as the Riedel glasses Zacapa released in gift sets years ago,... minus the stems & feet. Start breaking them in immediately.

Its probably better than my standard shaped shot glass that measures up to 4 oz but holds 5 oz just below the ledge on the rim.

Sipped a bottle of Ed's 151 out of one. Worked just fine.

There is a lot of discussion on these forums about glasses and while the choice is a personal one I have a standard that I use that lets me experience more of the flavor of the sugar cane spirit.

Rum is the most diverse of all distilled spirits so one glass isn't going to be the best for every sugar cane spirit but if you're sipping a very flavorful spirit you don't need to concentrate the aroma of the spirit.

The glass I use is about the diameter of a 750ml bottle and about the same height. After pouring a bit of the spirit in the glass I tip the glass to a 45 degree angle and then inhale the aroma through my nose with my mouth open to dilute the intensity of the spirit.

I like the Zacapa glass but it doesn't allow all the flavors in more aromatic rum to be experienced to the fullest.

I think he means the same height as the diameter... I was thinking the same thing... or that his glass is the full bottle.

I'm guessing that's what he meant, too. I kinda wanna see what glass he uses, though...
