Rum: A Global History

I recently bought this book which is in the Edible Series, it's written by Richard Foss who also owns www.rumhistory.com.

I found it an enjoyable read and while it doesn't go into the specifics of rum production it does give a great overview of the history of rum. It also has some great anecdotes and includes some great historical quotes including a few sea shanties and songs about rum. It also has a few traditional cocktail recipes including one that calls for a Hot Poker to be used in the mixture!
