Whatever happened to Santa?

Another year without that $264 bottle of Fiji rum. Sigh.

The Samaroli Fiji Rum that I coveted at $264 came down to $188. Blew the Screech budget for the next few weeks. I got an important birthday in a year and a half, so I bought myself a feckin' birthday present. OK?

I'm pretty sure the liquor store only brought in two bottles. I'm told that the first one got away free. The guy must have had a variety of liquor going through the checkout, and the scanner beeped on the Fiji but didn't record it.
Lucky bugger. Still, at $264 it shows a certain level of commitment doesn't it.

Well, the important birthday is here, and in great anticipation I opened the very expensive bottle of Samaroli Fiji Rum 2001/2016 bottled by some extremely stupid people in Scotland. Its feckin' AWFUL ! The taste is something llke bitumin and burnt tires. The aroma from the newly opened bottle was promising, but the nose once poured is reminiscent of airplane glue. What the hell were they trying to do? Make it into crap scotch with their peating? Blech!
