I believe that this is a rum aged and bottled in Scotland, or maybe the UK using Demerara rum. Murry and McDavid have an Enmore rum.

Distillery in Guyana that iwent under and is no longer in existance. The still itself was bought by El Dorado in order to continue the flavor. Some of the old barrels still aging were bought by Murray McDavid.

Murray MacDavid bought some, I believe Cadenheads also bought some and some went to other blenders in Europe that don't use the Enmore name anymore.

Would it be a good idea to purchasae a bottle of the Enmore? Would this be the last of a good rum from that distillery? I can get a bottle from Binny's.
$65? Worth it?

Does anyone know German? i found this on machas website and cannot understand it:

ENMORE, Guyana
Enmore Old Demerara Rum 1980, 20Y., 40% € 64,00

neu installiert. Dieser unchillfiltered Rum zeigt einen kräftigen Charakter
mit Aromen von Kokosnuss, Dörrfrüchten und Eiche. Der Abgang ist sehr würzig.

Then when i google in this i of course get to the Pedrelli...and it drives me nuts.....because they don`t export.....and they have the Millenium reserve and also the full proof at special price..(aargh!!!) and then they have a rum called Caroni which looks good to me.

I WANT THIS!!!:

This is what babelfish ( http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr ) came up with.. for what it's worth

ENMORE, Guyana Enmore old Demerara rum 1980, 20Y., 40%? 64,00 Enmore, south of Georgetown convenient, is a province, which lives exclusively on the sugar tubing cultivation and the sugar factories. In former times also Rumdestillerien belonged to the landscape, but only few of it exist still. Thus also the Enmore rum is burned today of the Demerara Distillers Ltd.. This Destillerie had quietly developed and into their fuel resounding had again installed the Pot typical for the Enmore with the old brennerei plant. This unchillfiltered rum shows a strong character with flavours of coconut, Doerrfruechten and oak. The outlet is very spicy.

These might be rums from the old Enmore distllery. They all look and sound interesting. Tiare, you find the most interesting rums. I have heard of Caroni, I think it is from Trinidad.

Specialitydrinks has a 1975 Enmore

Enmore 1975 / 32 Year Old / Guyana / Silver Seal / 70cl / 50%
An ancient Demerara from the Enmore distillery, released by Silver Seal - an Italian company better known for their frequently stunning (and highly collectable) whisky bottlings.
