Default Plantation Single Cask Rums?

Has anyone had the chance to try these limited offerings yet? I believe they are UK exclusive products. I have a bottle of each inbound but I'm wondering what to expect compared to the regular Grand Reserve and Trinidad, as I won't have them for a couple months.

I've not tried them but i'd be very interested in acquiring some. Did you order yours from a UK supplier? If so grateful if you could share the address.

Thank you

A friend has picked them up for me and will be bringing them across the pond on his next trip. I'm not sure where he purchased them but I have come across both of them at Whisky Exchange and some other online retailers in the UK.

I believe there is also a Guadaloupe Single Cask but am not sure when this was released or where.

I've found them on Whisky Exchange now, not sure how I missed them before.

Thanks for the heads-up, got a bottle of each on order!

Pete from www.thefloatingrumshack.com did a nice write-up of them when they were first launched, you can read it here: http://thefloatingrumshack.com/main/...5:rum&Itemid=5

Sorry for the bump but felt I should report back on my findings.

I keep going back to the Trinidad 1999 as it's absolutely stunning, it has an extra sweetness to it that I presume comes from the time spent in banyuls casks but I don't find it over-sweet, it just adds a nice touch to the after taste and makes it really pleasant to finish off a nice meal with.

Even though i've only tried around 30-40 different rums so far on my rum adventure I think the top spot has to go to this one. I'm seriously considering buying a couple more bottles just to keep in stock so I can enjoy it for a while longer!

How are you getting on with yours?

Sniss - Thanks for the recommendation. I think the Trinidad will be my next purchase from the Whisky Exchange for me then. I don't think you can go wrong with Plantation!

I think you're spot on and i'm now tempted to try and 'collect' the whole range, if it's even possible as they're too nice to not drink!

Let me know how you get on

Plantation makes fantastic products... I have the Barbados 5y, Barbados 1995, several Guyana 1990, the Jamaica 2000, Panama 1997, and 20th ann. None disappoint, although I've stayed away from the Trini as I've never had any Trini I've liked.

To my knowledge, Cognac Ferrand (Plantation Rum) has produced around 23 different single cask editions. I have managed to collect 19 of those. The single cask editions are sold in different countries in Europe, so some of them are very hard to obtain (1983 Jamaica is limited to 150 bottles).

Below is the list of the ones, Ive managed to get hold off (incl. the %ABV)

Barbados 5 YO Single Cask - Pineau des charentes 40
Barbados 10 YO Single Cask 42
Barbados 11 YO Single Cask 45
Barbados 15 YO Single Cask 42
Grenada 1996 Single Cask 42
Guadeloupe 1998 Single Cask 42
Guadeloupe 1999 Single Cask 42
Jamaica 1983 Single Cask 42
Jamaica 1986 Single Cask 42
Jamaica 1992 Single Cask 42
Martinique 2002 Single Cask 42
Panama 8 years old Single Cask 42
St.Lucia 1999 Single Cask 42
Trinidad 1995 Single Cask - Marsala & Cognac 42
Trinidad 1995 Single Cask - Porto & Cognac 42
Trinidad 1998 Single Cask - Porto & Cognac 42
Trinidad 1999 Single Cask - Banyuls & Cognac 42
Trinidad 2000 Single Cask - Marsala & Cognac 42
Trinidad 2002 Single Cask - Marsala & Cognac 42

In case you wonder, No I have not tasted all of them.
