Default The Sweeter side of Rums - Victoria

Hello fellow Rum Lovers,

I am hosting my fourth rum tasting event later this month and I would like to invite everybody to come.

We will be exploring the Sweeter side of Rums with the delicious Solera and Demerara rums.
Friday, June 1st @7:00pm
Esquimalt Rd. (Same location as before) details of the address will be given to everybody that is confirmed

Tickets are $25.00 each and only 15 tickets are available. Tickets will sell out as they have before in the past, so get you confirmation quick!
We will have some caribbean influenced snacks and foods to go along with these delicious rums
There will be a raffle for a great bottle of rum, tickets can be purchase the night of the event. Ticket prices are $5/each or $10/three.

The group loved the Zacapa 23 of course, then 2nd was the ED 12 and third was the Matusalem Clasico.

I'm bummed that I didn't make it up to Victoria while I was in Seattle a couple of weeks ago, but I can't do everything.

As for solera, I feel that term is very much over-used in the rum industry with only Santa Teresa using anything that comes close to a true solera aging system. Certainly Zacapa is good rum, but Solera, well it's more of a dynamic blending process with Solera used more for marketing than the actual process.

Glad everyone enjoyed the evening and hopefully they learned something about sugar cane spirits.

Yeah everybody had a great time learning about the complex method of Solera. We all enjoyed the fine rums that I brought.

I'm taking the summer off from tastings, but I will be back in September for my next one.
