A growing number of bars appreciate rum, and and we appreciate them.

Default Seattle

Bars in Seattle with a good selection of rum:

The Zig Zag Cafe: http://zigzagseattle.com/

Hula Hula Lounge: http://www.hulahula.org/

I will add more as I make my way around Seattle's bars.

Thank you, Forrest! I am glad I found this site. The knowledge here has already helped me tremendously during my exploration of the world of rum.

Visited another bar in Seattle with a better than usual selection of rum and fine cocktails:

http://www.libertybars.com/

When I ordered some Zaya, the bartender thought I may enjoy Flor de Cana 18 and the Ron Zacapa 23 yo. as well and graciously brought me free tasters of both...such bartenders definitely get good marks in my book.

I'm staying up here on capital hill right now. What's the best liquor store for finding some rare gems up here? I want to know where to go before I venture out. I'm hoping to pick up something nice to take back down to Portland with me.

Thanks. I ended up going to the one on 12th before checking back here. I bought a bottle of Ron Zacapa 23 since I'd never tried it and couldn't find any in Portland. When I get back from my trip there's a message on my answering machine from the local liquor store here saying they got it in stock and are holding a bottle for me.

I am glad you were able to find a bottle of note at the store! If you are still on the Hill, you should check out Liberty bar on 15th. It's about a 15 min walk from the liquor store on 12th and has a good selection of rums not carried by regular bars.

Yeah I read about that place and thought it would be a good place to go. Unfortunately I ended my night out after hopping from different places at Canterbury Ale & Eats. I didn't know until the next afternoon that Liberty was right down the street. I'll have to check it out when I'm back up there.

A family friend has said that Elliot's Oyster House in Seattle has a good rum selection. Upon viewing their website, they claim to have "58 bottles of rum on the wall."

Here's a list (3rd page):

from their website.

I ended up visiting Elliot's Oyster House as I mentioned above and they do indeed have quite a selection. One thing that surprised me though was that on the bar they had a bunch of Flare glasses hanging, so it's clear they take their rum seriously there.
