Default ten cane rum

I am BRAND NEW at anything like this.
Never blogged or participated in a forum.
Please help.
All I want to know is, "What happened to Ten Cane Rum?"
I can't find it in any Florida stores?

Ten Cane production moved to Barbados a year or two ago. The brand owner has slowed down supporting the brand so it will be harder to find on the retail level and fewer bars will be stocking it.

Hope this helps.

Bummer, this has been high on my list, since I can't find Westhall locally. Now I find 10 Cane to be on the endangered species list around here as well!

10 cane rum was discontinued some time ago. Shortly after the move to Barbados.

Default Substitutes for 10 Cane?

I loved 10 Cane and was responsible for getting a number of stores and bars to carry it. Right up until it was discontinued.

I have not been able to find a suitable replacement.

Does anyone have suggestions for a rum that is similar in style and flavor?

Default 10 Cane still found in Maryland

I can still find 10 Cane in my local package stores and in a few bars here in Annapolis. Maybe I ought to be stocking up while I can get it.

Barbancourt 8yr would be closest imo, and actually much better.

Pity. I likes it. Bought a bottle in Juneau a couple of years ago, then another one more recently either in Calgary or Vancouver. Old stock I guess.

Default I spoke too soon

10 Cane has disappeared from the shelves in Annapolis. My usual shopkeeper did a bit of research for me to let me know that it is still active on distributor's lists in Washington State and California... must be older stock. While in South Carolina over the weekend I found 3 of the original Trinidad bottles on the "Discontinued Shelf." I'm now, officially a rum hoarder.
