Hey islandgirl!

Am I too late for your party? Anyway just came across this in the Rum 1000 bok:

Banana Daiquiri
1.25 oz Bacardi Light Rum
.25 oz lemon juice or Rose's Lime juice
½ tsp sugar
1 banana

Blend

Haven't tried it so I won't guarantee anything. And I'm sure the good people of the forum has their own versions of this. Maybe with another rum...

joergen I just made my wife a banana daiquir using your recipe and holy smokes. By far best banana daiquiri we've ever had. She actually just said (in a very complementary tone) "Who knew that sweden had good rum recipes, go thank him dear" and so I am. Thank you, Im saving this one.

Hey RonJames! I'm glad you guys liked it. Good to know that it was enjoyable. Maybe now I will get around to try it myself. Thanks for the feedback!

Just curious, did you go with Bacardi Light or did you use some other rum?

I would like to try this recipe with 2 oz El Dorado 3 year cask aged white and 1/2 banana, preferably an apple banana from the Thai grocery!

Cheers!

Tiare

I didn't use bacardi and instead used Don Q cristal (a PR white rum that most puerto ricans will drink long before bacardi). Different banana's, now you're talking Tiare

Are any of you blending with ice or using frozen fruit?

have a similar recipe with Barcelo Anejo from DR (banana republic), 1/2 banana, lime wedge squeeze and vanilla sugar instead of normal sugar for strengthening the banana flavor. Blend it...with crushed ice

I have a small blender which I throw in banana, lime, sugar, and rum then blend. I DO NOT put in ice. Then I use a shaker and shake with ice, strain, and delicious. I made another one last night and its rare for me to go back to back with rum drinks.

I like the shaker idea. Bananas are on the shopping list!
