Bacardi Limitada coming to US
Here's your chance to get the Bacardi Limitada in the US, if you're in limited markets and willing to spend $110.

I didn't see it in the article, but have they given any indication of when or where it will be available, other than "Fall 2010" or "limited markets"? This is one I'd definitely like to add to my shelf!

Does anybody know the source of this blend (Mexico, Bahamas, PR, etc.)?

That is a very good question and one to which I've yet to receive a plausible answer.

If I can I'll check my bottle at the house tonight, if it says PR rum that should say quite a bit. I believe that it has to be distilled in PR, aged in PR for atleast a year(without any topping off) and bottled there as well. 8 anos always said "product of the bahamas on the back as it spent time in sherry barrels I believe.
Nobody doubts that this is a nice rum, some have wondered if it is worth the price tag. A lot of that depends on individual tastes and individual circumstance (money). For me it was/is worth it. In fact my wife and I bought a bottle and had it engraved to celebrate our 1st house. I only winced a little when my step father put a dash of it in his diet coke for the toast

The ones in our retail store are a product of Puerto Rico and retail at $76:99.
It certainly does not fly off the shelf even at this price, when compared to prices in other countries.
I have been given a few during my visits to the distillery in Catano, and one with my name etched into the bottle and a certificate for display. I compare it closest to the 8 (one of my favourite rums) but I think a little lighter, but definetly a Bacardi Rum. This is the flagship of their brand as it should be.

When I was in Nassau this spring, they were selling for $99 at the Bacardi store. I was tempted, but it was too steep for me.
