Talking can you make your own brand of rum?

how easy is it to make your own brand of rum? obviously, all the supermarkets in england do it. some of the rums are good, while most, admittedly, won't encourage a repeat purchase. apart from the big names, are there many famous rum brands out there that are really just 'designer' labels?

Quite a number of companies offer contract bottling, your label on their product. But such product frequently can be made to your specs.

I'm researching now the private labels in rum market, for my thesis, and I see that the supermarkets want to obtain almost a non-flavour product, with classic rum taste but no so evident, in order to make happy a great part of people that don't know "good" (what's good?) rum... No flavour no risk.
This is a marketing choice first, because almost at the same price you can produce a rum with more flavour, more complex, and more interesting.

But I want to defend who make his private rum label, not the supermarkets, but who contract specific rums from importers/distillers to making a unique taste. As Pyrat for example, or RumNation, Silver Seal, Selezioni Gargano, Moon Import, Zaya, Bristol Spirits, Caribbean Selections, Southard's...or many others premium labels, mainly selled in european markets.

Yes you can blend your own brand. That's essentially what Elements Eight is - they worked with St Lucia Distilleries to blend their own rums to a specific brief.

More locally you could contact Bristol Rum Co or Main Rum in Liverpool who would blend to order
