Which Agricole should I buy first?

Hi all,

I have just joined the ministry in my search for the best first Agricole to buy for my small but growing collection.

I want something with the characteristic grassy and sharper taste of an Agricole, I don't mind it being a bit harsher than a typical sipping rum, but this will be its main purpose. I am avoiding Barbancourt as I have heard it is a bit sweeter than Agricole should be and looses those characteristic tastes.

I feel like trying to stick to Martinique is a better option, as they seem like the more quintessential Agricole rhums.

Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

On Martinique, Neisson is considered the best agricole. Look for sugar cane in the finish which is the hallmark of agricole rhum. The freshness of the sugar cane combined with a long fermentation yields the most sugar cane in the nose, body and finish in this agricole.
