Hello fellow rum lovers!
I've been reading this forum for a while now so it's about time I introduced myself
My name is Christer (or Chris for short) and I live on the west coast of Sweden. I'm a relative newcomer to rum but I've been "researching" the field of aged spirits for many years. I started with single malt whisky about ten years ago. A couple of years later I began exploring cognac, then calvados, aged grappa, aсejo tequila and so on... That was quite interesting but rum, when I finally got there, was a revelation! IMO, aged rum combines quality and variety in a way that is second only to single malts.
Rum has an advantage over whisky though: Good rum is usually cheaper than good Scotch
Best regards,
Chris
PS: If you're interested you can find my rum ratings on my web page http://fahrenheit173.com/

Welcome to the forums. I'm sure you recognize some of the usual suspects around the forums. Enjoy your time here and we look forward to your contributions.
Rum is the most versatile and diverse of the distilled spirits and although the aged rums are what get most consumers attention. Some of the unaged rums are equally special.

That sort of wit makes my morning rum runner, thank you. Chris welcome aboard and keep the reviews coming. There's a good group of scandinavians on this site and one in particular across the pond in Finland I believe called Count Silvio, who also does great rum reviews on www.refinedvices.com. Keep the good info coming.
