The Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is a wonderful rum. If you can find it locally, get a bottle. If you can't, find someplace that will ship it to you. It is that good.

For those who enjoy sweeter, rich, smooth sippers like Vizcaya and Zacapa 23, DRE offers a similar flavor profile at a surprisingly low price (here in Maryland frequently on sale for only $25).

This is currently my favorite rum. I discovered this a year ago at an ABC store in St. Augustine when we were out playing pirate. I bought it sight unseen in that we were needing rum and the packaging looked interesting. Was I not delighted when we got it opened. The rum is smooth warm, chilled, in anyway. The bottle is awesome as well. I've since tried the others from this brand but still searching for their top of the line which isn't imported into the USA.
