i have a bottle of the cadenhead 12 years old from guayana aged in ex laphroaig cask.
i ve not opened it yet but all the review i read about was really good.
i intend to open it next time i meet with the rum ambassador because he never tried it too.
if you want to find it just go to this website.http://www.cadenheads.de/
it s their official shop in germany and they have another one in central london too.find it at this adress. http://www.coventgardenwhiskyshop.co.uk/
cadenhead is originally a whisky brand but they do have around 30 different rum under their label too.as well as gin and absinth

T,

The Green Label I have is a decent rum (but the bottle I have was purchased at least a year ago, and no telling how long it was stocked before I picked it up, as this doesn't appear to move in large quantities here - never seen an actual example in a bar or rest.), to give you an idea.

I would describe my bottle as light to medium in body, intensely fruity (tropical) and clean cut. Heavy molasses sippers might not be overly enthused with it, as it doesn't have the heft or 'disposition' of rons that rely on supplements for character.

To me, it tastes quite a bit related to an earlier purchased bottle of Cadenhead's "Long Pond" 10 year old I have. Which maybe Ed or someone knows some specifics on the two items, but I was left wondering if the Green Label is primarily, or at least partially a blend of Jamaican - perhaps Long Pond as well ...or if the similarities I found are more or less a default of Cadenheads' selection, (perhaps) maturation, bottling (more purely) etc?
