Default Gosling's Ginger Beer (replacing Barritt's)

I just learned from my Gosling's rep that Gosling's is done with Barritt's, due to certain issues (he couldn't elaborate).

Gosling's is now producing their own Ginger Beer, supposedly from the same recipe as Barritt's.

I have several cases of Barritt's in stock, so this will be interesting to see if their claim holds up.

Personally, I prefer Regatta Ginger Beer (also from Bermuda) in cans, as it is made from cane sugar, not high fructose corn syrup like the Barritt's.

Gosling rolled out the new Ginger Beer in association with Polar Beverages of Massachusetts, USA back in May of this year.

So they are not producing the Ginger Beer, at least for the USA market.

Their rum production remains separate.

I see nothing in the pipeline to indicate a RTD..Thank God.

This is interesting info. I would love to taste the new Gosling's ginger beer. Barrit's is very sweet, but it does make the classic Dark 'n' Stormy. Regatta is another I hope to taste at some time.

This is a really great read about Goslings, with a large emphasis on the Dark and Stormy: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tony-s..._b_216703.html

Alas, I just tried Gosling's new ginger beer today. Very candied, with not nearly the bite that I would have liked. I don't know how it will fare, but I'll stick with Regatta and/or Barritts.

Anyone know what happened with Goslings and Barritts?

P.S. I should mention that I didn't actually have it in a Dark 'n Stormy; I had it straight. I just can't imagine it improving mixed.
