Default I miss Bacardi Vanilla

My favorite rum ever. I may have been the only person who liked it, as it was discontinued a few years ago.

Does anyone have any recommendations for something very similar? I have yet to find a vanilla rum that was what I'm looking for.

The only other Vanilla rum that springs to mind is Cruzan. However if you like a lot of vanilla in your rum, try Angostura's 1919, it makes a great after dinner drink over a few cubes of ice.

You might enjoy Whaler's Vanille (pronounced Van-ee)

The Whaler's Vanille is quite nice, as is the Brinley's Gold Vanilla Rum.
I think both of these are better than the Cruzan, which is too candy-like and cloying. I think both are also higher proof than the Cruzan, but not 100% sure.

I forgot about Brinley's. This is the best flavoured rum I know of. It is basically all I drank while in St.Kitts recently. I was drinking it straight over a few cubes of ice, it is so smooth. I was fortunate to see it being bottled and blended at the DDL plant there. All their rum comes from Guyana in tanker trucks and is aged, blended and bottled in St.Kitts. Highly recommended.

Bacardi Vanilla was pretty good. I really enjoy the Brinley Gold Vanilla.

The best vanilla rum, though, is to do it yourself. Score one vanilla bean and leave in a bottle of white rum, add a little sugar and let it sit for 2-3 days. now THAT is a good vanilla rum.

I had previously used Madagascar beans, but recently got New Guinea beans and they are homeruns! Better tasting and one-third the price.

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned Sailor Jerry, which has a very pronounced vanilla flavour.
Cheers. - S

I love the Brinley's Vanilla. Their Coffee is also excellent, and I liked their Coconut, too - a lot more than most of the other coconut rums out there.
