Reformed Bourbon Enthusiast
Greetings from Bourbon Country! After years of enjoying the local products of Kentucky, I became frustrated with the circus growing up around getting the bourbons I used to enjoy and began to branch out. First to single malt scotch (which I am still very fond of!) followed by a brief encounter with mezcal and then to rum. I’d had a few sipping grade rums during the last couple decades and while on vacation in the Carribean many years back, but nothing ongoing. I remember favorable encounters with early Pyrat XO and Bacardi’s 8 or 10 year old and Cruzan Single Barrel in the late 90’s in particular.
During the last couple years, I’ve picked up a few bottles based on commmentaries from around the internet and learned that Rhum JM, Foursquare, and an ever growing list of things out of Jamaica are quite relevant to my interests. I’ve also become quite keen on the original Mai Tai and Zombie recipes that have been resurrected for a change of pace when a sipper doesn’t fit the bill.
After picking up a bottle of Hamilton Saint Lucia Pot Still 7-year (2007, barrel #550), I came to this site to learn more about. So here I am.
