Default Reef Rum Nights are Back!

Hello fellow rum lovers!

The Reef is hosting our 2nd Annual Reef Rum Nights! 17 weeks, 17 premium spirits. We're currently into week 4. This event was so popular last year that we've extended it to all three corporate restaurants. Sundays at Commercial Drive and Victoria; Monday at Main Street. Complimentary tasting is 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Here's the line up:

January
2 & 3: Sailor Jerry's Spiced Navy Rum
9 & 10: El Dorado
16 & 17: Doorly's XO
23 & 24: Lamb's Black Sheep
30 & 31: Elements 8

February
6 & 7: Goslings Black Seal
13 & 14: Mount Gay
20 & 21: English Harbour
27 & 28: Royal Jamaican

March
6 & 7: Hispaniola Mamajuana
13 & 14: Cockspur
20 & 21: Sagatiba
27 & 28: Havana 7

April
3 & 4: Lemonhart
10 & 11: Flor de Cana
17 & 18: Appleton
24 & 25: Malibu

Some really great rums in here so please come check us out! I'd love to hear your feedback on the rums and there are some, like Sagatiba, that we will be tasting against our current house offerings to determine if we should be making a change.

Default Vancouver or Bust!

Your line-up sounds quite intriguing however, I noticed you do not have any Agricole Rhums present. May I recommend the Clement Rhum, JM Rhum, Neissen and LaMauny all from Martinique to round out your tasting schedule.
I think you will discover the classic Ti-Punch quite a crowd pleaser.

At the present time most rhum agricole doesn't meet the Canadian government standards for purity in regards to some products of fermentation. In the past a few agricole rhums from Martinique have been imported but most have been recalled or rejected once the chemical analysis was completed.

I am hoping to be able to sample out a rhum agricole from Guadaloupe called Karukera. However, it is true that I am limited by what is approved and listed in my province by the liquor control board.

whoooooo hoooo rum reef nights are back!!!!

Couldn't agree more....there is nothing like a ti punch in the summer especially made from Neissen or Rhum JM Paille....

However in BC they have the La Mauny but it is (IMO) a sad pale shadow of the La Mauny I had once ordered from the distillery. The current La Mauny in BC I found weak and bitter/sour...completely unexpected...
