White Rums

Whether you call them, clear, silver, white or simple 'see through' how do you drink them?

Default Sipper White Rums

I have been recently been enjoying certain white rums as sipping rums and was wondering if anyone else had any favorites. Granted they don't have the same flavor depth as an aged dark rum, but still find them very enjoyable...my current favorites are:
Barbancourt
Ocumare
Brugal
Palo Viejo (the cheapest of the bunch but surprisingly good)

Default El Dorado 3 year old

Have you tried El Dorado 3 year old? It's probably the best white rum I've ever tasted, and can certainly be sipped.

Diplomatico Blanco is amazing.

I picked up a bottle of havana club anejo blanco at a duty free shop on the way back from the Cook Islands. It is far better than I expected! It is very pleasant to sip and much more complex than I thought a white rum could be, but then again I have not gone to the ends of the earth sampling very many white rums. I may have to do so now.

Oronoco is a good white sipper as well. I too like the HC but tend to use it more for mojitos.

Neisson is pretty good as well, especially in the summer.

I haven't had Diplomatico Blanco, but I have had El Dorado 3yr, and can vouch that it is a truly worthy white rum.

I tend to enjoy Mount Gay Platinum White, Ron Matusalem Platino, and Tommy Bahama White Sands...

Recently, I tried Cruzan Aged White and was please with it....

I like to "shoot" my white rum....not really sip.

Oronoco
Elements Eight Platinum
and Toz White

3 stunning white rums not mentioned yet. Toz is finished in port casks and is a real treat and Oronoco not only has the prettiest bottle in Christendom, it's a great aged white rum.

Very few of these listed are 'white' rums though? Aged and filtered is cheating, surely?

Wish we had E8 out here in the States.

The Oronoco bottle is great, though I'm not a fan of the spout, which pours messily without a speedpour.

Diplomatico Blanco is a good sipper.

ED3 is a good sipper, though it's such a wonderful mixer too, I swear sometimes I don't know how the lime and sugar got into that glass.

I've also been known to enjoy a glass of La Favorite Blanc from time to time.
