Trigo Paso Fino, a Rum Liqueur from a long time ago. No flavoring except white rum and sugar. The sweetness is light reminicent of moscovado (sp?) kind of confectioners sugr with hints of vanilla--Simple but nice. Makes a delish sour just by adding lemon juice. (on my second).

I don't know if it's the buzz but I'm watching Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson and it's not bad at all.

Slowy finishing up a bottle of Maker's Mark whiskey mixed with Ginger Ale, water and some Malibu Coconut Rum to mask this whiskey's taste.

Finished a Century 15/25 ... a Rye Wshisky a few days ago, I think I'll go back to the Hiram Walker's Special Old whisky.. the next time I pick some up.

Also get a Capt. Morgan Parrot Bay Coconut Rum and pit it against the Malibu Coconut Rum and see which one I prefer but that's for another day.

Is Rittenhouse Rye available in the great white north? Hard to find even in the states. Its a great rye at only $20.

DJ,

I dind't even know of Rittenhouse's Rye whisky and yes.. RITTENHOUSE STRAIGHT RYE WHISKY 100 BOND is available just not in my city. Mostly in the south of Ontario.

It's $34.80 here at our Liquor stores in Ontario.

Wow 50.0% Alcohol/Vol. now that's quite a bit. Maker's Mark is at 45% and started having a buzz after indulging 2 ounces of it in an hour... well a little more since I added some Malibu's Rum at 20 something % but was surprised. I'll have to look up some review of the Rittenhouse's whisky later on.

When you can swing it, add Brinley's Gold Coconut Rum to your comparison tasting. IMHO it blows the other 2 out of the water for authentic coconut flavor and the quality of the Rum base carrying it.
