Default St. James Pub, Brighton, UK

Not far from the centre of Brighton is the St. James pub which, along with usual pub fayre, specialises in rum. They do their own spiced rums, and hot toddies.

Finally got around to trying this place yesterday. They have 91 rums altogether and prices are very reasonable - compared with some of the bars in London!

I didn't have time to try all 91 of them, but I started with Trois Rivieres White (50% alcohol) which is an excellent example of an Agricole Blanc - just strong enough to provide a kick, but without completely overwhelming the senses. I followed that with Admiral Rodney which was lovely and smooth.

A very enjoyable visit, and I highly recommend this pub if you're ever in or near Brighton.

Their "rum club" meets on the first Tuesday of every month:
