Default Hi from Puerto Rico

Hi my name is Fernando, I'm born and raised in Puerto Rico. As any typical puertorican I enjouy rum, but I have a special relationship with it.

My favorite everyday rum is Don Q white with coke (hold the lemon). For special ocasions, don Q aсejo, Barcadi 8 and Special Reserve. for really special ocasiones Edmundo B Fernadez Ron del Barrilito Tres Estrellas (Three Stars, believe me there are no 5 stars).

I look forward to share your passion for rum and to learn from other markets as well, I have traveled, but so far only developed a tasting for Central American rums (Nicaranguan Specially).

Warmest regards,

Fernando (Ferdie1125)

Hola ferdie. Welcome to the forum. I have lived on Vieques Island since 1997. It is very nice to see another rum lover from Puerto Rico join here.

Along with you I enjoy the Barrilito rums and have had the good fortune to meet Don Fernando at the facility with forum member Rumelier and Federico Hernandez, organizer of the San Juan Taste of Rum Festival coming up on May 24.

Don Q con agua de coco is a favorite also.

I hope to get to meet you at the Taste of Rum Fest in San Juan in May.

We all look forward to your participation and enjoyment of rum and this forum.

Saludos!

Welcome to the forums. And thank you for confirming that there is no five star Barrilito. I can't tell you how many email I've received over the years telling about a special 5 star Barrilito.

I saw a Skunk Ape drinking 5 star Barrilito in the Everglades with Elvis and Big Foot.

Hi ferdie, good to meet you, hopefully will get to meet you in May, and drink some Gran Aсejo together.
Do you mean the bottle of 5 Star I bought on eBay isn't real???

ferdie1125, I see what you mean 3 Star, I am staring at the bottle right now. But, after my 5th drink last night, my bottle definitely had 5 stars!

Ah, The Barrilito 5 Star...Possibly being held in an underground bunker in Area 51 along with that Alien spacecraft and little green person remains.

The only thing I can think is that some people are confusing the legendary barrel "La Dona" with a Five Star Barillito.

I'd be a happy man just to get to see that barrel and get a sniff from it.

Maybe on our next visit Bob, Ed, and Rob's squared?

lololol, I just got a mental image of all of ice duking it out WWF style in the aging warehouse of barrilito, seeing who will get to crawl into La Dona. I think La Dona and what it stands for is awesome, one of these days I'd just like to see it.
