Thanks everyone for the update on the Flare. I'm still curious on how it stands up to the Riedel rum glass though - has anyone put them side by side yet?

Hopefully it does compare well because I would love to get a full set of rum sipping glasses for less than the cost of one Riedel glass.

Scottes - I know we'll be getting together in a couple of weeks to drink some rum - I'll bring mine if you bring yours...

Joe, bring your Reidel, and we can compare. I'll have a number of Flares that people can check out and try out.

Joe, I got my set today, so I have 5. I'll give you 2 of them at the NETT. It's the least I can do for your generosity by buying me the Brinleys and giving me your own bottle of Castries. I'm sipping the Castries now, and loving it. Thanks again!

I'm aware that this is thread necromancy, but are the flare and the other spirit glasses still available to be purchased. Its christmas time and they would make great presents.

To the best of my knowledge the Flare glasses are no longer available anywhere. It was a small start up company and like a lot of small start ups, they didn't reach the critical sales needed to continue.

Given that the Flare is no longer available or hard to find, what would be the poor man's second choice?

Was just at the website...is there a link to the glasses? Didn't spot it. And are they only available through the website?

I don't believe the company is in business anymore.
