I have not had the chance to the Grand Reserve from Planatation but love their Trinadad 91', 93' and their Barbados 91'. The Plantation line is one of my all time favorites.

I like the Plantation Barbados rum. Having said that it should be noted that none of the distillers on Barbados are yet making any rum from sugar cane juice, unless you consider that molasses is made from sugar cane juice in the sugar making process.

I enjoy the Plantation rums quite a bit. These rums are well blended and deliver great flavor. I have the Barbados 93, Trinidad 93, Jamaica 8 Year Old, Venezuela 92, and the Panama 97. All of my bottles say Old Reserve. I wonder if there is a difference between them and the Grand Reserve. The Panama is very interesting, very different in comparison to the others. I don't think the Barbados is made from cane juice though, at least according to the label on my bottle. It does say it is made from the highest quality sugar cane, which is a little misleading.
I think you will enjoy this rum quite a bit.

Thanks for clearing this about the sugar cane juice because I got confused as I had read on the internet about this rum that it was made from 100% sugar cane juice.. and never had heard anything about that they make rum from sugar cane juice on Barbados..One of the staff here in the shop told me it was agricole..but I said no its not agricole..
Anyway, I tried it yesterday and its a very nice tasting rum but it does NOT taste agricole..

Did you get it from Stockholm, if yes then which shop? Also can you send me a PM of the other rums that are available in Stockholm? Might make a boat trip there one day and empty the shelves.

The spirits in Sweden are all sold in a govermental shop called Systembolaget which has monopoly of all alcohol selling, youґcannot buy any stronger alcohol than light beer in the supermarkets and food stores. You will find Systembolagets shops a bit everywhere in every city. I`m afraid you`ll be dissapointed of both the poor selection and the very high prices..for instance, a bottle of La Mauny blanc (must also be pre ordered) cost 60 euro..in my opinion its very expensive. But not all are that costly, i payed 25 euro (250 swedish crowns really) for the Barbados plantation.

I'll just include my vote in favor of this rum. Thumbs up. Once you've tried it, you'll have to let us know what you think.

I think it has a light and smooth, sweet taste and it is nice with just one icecube or in a mixed drink. Maybe preferable in a mixed drink..I rather drink El Dorado 15 on the rocks.

I'm very familiar with government monopolies regarding alcohol sale but I would still appreciate some sort of a list of rums available if possible because I believe you may have some different products (and have, atleast plantation rum) than we have over here and I am almost certain the prices cannot be higher than they would be here.
