Default Brinley Shipwreck Spiced Rum

I just joined this site, what a cool find. Lots of excellent information and suggestions. I am a fan of spiced rum, and of Brinley generally. I have a timeshare on the island of St. Kitts and know the Brinley family. Funny to go all the way to St. Kitts to meet people like myself from New Jersey (the Brinleys) making rum on the island. But they make some great rum. I had their spiced rum a few years ago in St. Kitts, not really sure if Shipwreck is the same exact recipe or not.

I just opened a bottle of Shipwreck for the first time this evening to make Bananas Foster (yep, we like it with spiced rum) so I took a little swig to see how it was. It's a nice rum, I could see sipping it. Pretty mellow with a vanilla flavor but not overkill. Hints of other spice in there too and a little bit peppery if that makes any sense. I don't really have my "rum lingo" down.

But, a nice rum that I will be drinking. It's only my second spiced rum with Captain Morgan Private Reserve being my first. I also bought a bottle of Seven Tiki while I was at the store to try. I'm hoping to try a few other "higher quality" spiced rums in the near future.
