Default LA Times Magazine

The Los Angeles Times Magazine just published this article about Martinique and rhum agricole online.

Nice article. Hope to get to Martinique someday. In the meantime I just need to get to Illinois or Indiana to get my agricole fix. No agricoles in Michigan for me. La Mauny was discontinued and now the only one listed in the state order book is Rhum JM. I ordered the Rhum JM through my local store 3 times and it has not been delivered so I'm thinking the state warehouse doesn't even have it. Strict T Punch rations for me now as my supply is dangerously low.

Rhum JM is the only rhum agricole we can get around here...the LA Times article reminds me of how hard it is to get a good variety of rum (or rhum) in the Midwest. Double edged sword I guess...more demand means higher prices, so I'll be thankful for what we CAN get around here.

Neisson and La Favorite are coming to Michigan and Kansas. The best thing you can do is to ask your liquor store to contact Caribbean Spirits with distributor suggestions.

Wyatt is a good friend and a huge fan of Rhum Agricole (did I say huge? . . I meant HUGE!). Ed doesn't like to toot his own horn, but he was mentioned and referranced 'a few' times--he is 'cool' . . . jes saying.
Apart from the FANTASTIC writing, the photography is AMAZING . . .

Great news, I'll definitely contact my liquor store to get the ball rolling!

My local store recommends National Wine and Spirits for Michigan. They have the best sales staff.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into them as time permits.

Just found out the reason Rhum JM was not delivered to my local store. Its been discontinued. I have my doubts as to whether it was ever in stock at the warehouse. So that makes it offical, as of now there is no rhum agricole available in Michigan.

Rhum JM Blanc has not been discontinued in Michigan, even though I was told this twice by customer service reps at the distributor. I thought it odd that a product would be discontinued so soon after becoming available in May. I called the importer for Rhum JM in New York to see about this. They told me it was not discontinued as far as they knew and that they shipped the product to the distributor in May. I called the distributor again and told the rep this so she looked it up and found that the stock number for ordering the product in the state order book was wrong. So after six weeks of trying I finally have my bottle of Rhum JM Blanc at my local store, in time to make some T Punches for the upcoming hot weekend.
