Elements 8, like all rums, started out as a white rum straight from the still.
There are all kinds of processes attributed to making some white rums but they are condensed clear from the still. The question doesn't ask whether it is harder to make dark rum X or white rum Y. Certainly a case could be made that some white rums are harder to make than some white rums, but you are comparing ALL dark rums to ONE white rum.
