I am arranging for a rum dinner some time in january, five courses of rums paired with meals. When we get done with that, I can organize a tasting, if others are open to it. All I ask is that at least one-third of the rums to taste are not in my collection, and I would prefer them to be rums Ive never had... hey, I want something outta this too!

Well, if I make it down I'll be happy to bring some rums for a side-tasting.

Thats a great list Robert. I'll be keeping this list for reference purposes. I know the LCBO carries a few of these bottles at about double the price. In Toronto, Ontario the 21yo El Dorado (discontinued) was $109CDN/US and the 15yo El Dorado is currently $59.45CDN/US.

Default Let's take this show on the road

We do have it pretty good in South Florida with lots of great rum on the shelves within easy reach. Next Tuesday I'm hosting a tasting of Gifted Rums of Barbados with some lovely brands.

It takes time and effort to develop a mailing list of people that appreciate such luxuries in any particular area, but there's no reason why great rum tastings like this cannot occur around the country as long as the rums are available through a local distributor and people want to taste them.

It does absolute wonders for sales and turns ordinary humans into vociferous consumers of quality spirits.
