It's not yet...unless you can bribe Dan Watson (angelsword) with untold fortunes, he won't release his rum. Occasionally he gives it away for review. Unfortunately since it's not FDA certified, or wasn't, last I checked, he cannot sell it.

free rum
it's kind of like Crazy Eddy - "his prices are so low, he's INSANE!"
Our mad scientist Dan is crazier than Eddy... he gives it away. I felt obliged to trade him a bottle of Appleton 21 for two wonderful samples. He also brought 6 or 7 different rums to a tasting here in Coral Gables to the surprise and delight of four dozen of my best friends.

I was unaware that a distiller needed FDA approval...I am not against considering Spirits as a Food and Drug..at the same time, It can be a great time saver.
I know he needs ATF (or whatever they call it these days) approval. Then he has to comply with local State regulations..Which may be more daunting than the Feds.
Any elucidation?

I sampled the Apple Tree and the Cherrywood VSO. Both truly unique and smoooooth... the hand-written tag on the bottle says "Not for sale. Professional sample for research." So I researched it. Thoroughly. Then I double-checked my research just to be sure... yep, that's good rum.
My collection of rums is much bigger than it was this time last year. Between many good rums available here in Miami, friends and relatives that bring good stuff from afar and seeking out some good rums from the smaller producers and distributors, it's getting pretty interesting.

Bribery will not work since that might be construed as selling... which I am not licensed to do. HOWEVER! If one were to write a review...
