If you joined this forum since March 30, there is a good chance that I have lost your records due to a mistake handling the database.
Please register and you will be able to post again.
I have also probably lost posts between March 30 and April 9.
My apologies for any inconvenience.

The server problem has been resolved, but some registrations were lost. Thanks for your patience.

I was a member some time ago but no longer remembered by login or password, so I start a new.
My rum preferences tend toward those best for sipping straight or once ice. While I don't hold it against anyone who enjoys their rum with cola, those rums are not to my taste.

Welcome to the forums again. If you have your old email address I can generally find it in the database.
I don't drink cola either but it's not the rums that others mix with cola that I don't drink, it's the mixture. I just mix those rums with other things like fresh juices.
But as discussed in a lot of other places in this forum. there is a big difference between cola made with sugar and high-fructose-corn-syrup, despite the new ad campaign by the corn sugar marketing council in the US.

Introduction -new member/Old Rummer
Hello all -
A brief intro - I'm an old sailor, semi-retired but now working as a maritime industry consultant. Live in Miami and am building escape home in Eleuthera. First fell in love with the dark spirit when I was yacht racing in the old SORC days, and have been enjoying it ever since. My favorites are any good, aged island rum, not spiced! My drink of choice is a good dark rum over ice with a splash of fresh-squeezed OJ and a splash of tonic, and a wedge of key lime.
But... Also really enjoy a good aged rum on the rocks; if it's good "sippin"rum.
Always try to keep a bottle or two of either Bacardi 8 and/or Appleton 15 on hand, but it seems to go so quickly!
Cheers -

Intro
I am new to the forum, not to rum. I enjoy collecting rum and sharing with friends. I am planning a tasting for friends for this fall, leaves me time to plan not only rums, but some food pairings and information that I can distribute. I picked up some English Harbour 10 year old in April while in Antigua, my current quest is to locate a supplier that will provide me with more of the same.

Welcome to the forums CaptnChap and Rhumline. Sailing the SORC races in the 70s are some of my finest memories growing up on boats.
English Harbour is hard to find in the US, but I believe distribution is going to improve, though there isn't a lot of that 10 year old rum available.

Welcome to the forums jbeneby. I appreciate your enthusiasm for Bahamian rum but you should know that if you ship rum to the US you are violating US laws and the purpose of these forums is not to encourage illegal activities. Most countries require exporters to be licensed and if found in violation of export laws face significant fines.
