Default John Bryan, friend and sailor

It is with great regret that I am posting the sad news that my friend John Bryan passed away last week. Over the years John and I crossed tacks up and down the islands and found time to share some rum and stories in some quiet, and some not so quiet, anchorages from Trinidad to the Virgin Islands.

John was most comfortable with a guitar in his hand but also enjoyed writing and pursued it with the same passion he expressed for music, sailing and living life to its fullest.

Always quick to share, his quiet demeanor and quest for knowledge and experience were an example for others. He will be missed, but for John it is more important for others to live than to regret the undone deed of goodwill toward others.

There is nothing one can really say that will truly comfort the loss of a good friend. I read the website dedicated to John and it is clear he was a special man on a special journey.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Just from a look at the site it is obvious John touched many lives on his journey. My deepest sympathies for the loss of your friend.
