Bars that appreciate RUM

A growing number of bars appreciate rum, and and we appreciate them.

Default Minneapolis

I'm in Minneapolis for a couple of more weeks and have yet to find a good rum bar. Anyone know of one here?

Ugh, i wish there was a local rum bar. I dont think ive been to a bar around here that knows there are more rums then Capt and bacardi silver.

When i ask for Sailor Jerry, they usually give me a funny look. A bartender in Duluth knew what it was, but told me they didnt carry it.

If in town feel free to PM and we can meet up. If you're downtown, the only venue with a decent collection (and you'd better make friends with bartender) is La Belle Vie. The food is exceptional, so you won't regret the visit.

Ive made a great Discovery, thanks to a good friend of mine whos a local chef at a restraunt called Cafe Levain (I strongly encourage you to check it out it if your in town, great place, amazing food, great prices. )

I mentioned the fact that there isnt any rum bars around here, and he told me of one. Its located in Stillwater, MN, which is about 20 minutes or so out of the cities. Called Smalleys Caribbean Barbeque & Pirate Bar...they have over 40 rums! heres a video review of it ...I cant wait to go there, my friend and I are going there Jan 5th forsure! I may go sooner though, haha.

There is also a really good small restaurant in Minneapolis on Lake Street called Town Talk Diner.

They have some rums, but what stood out to me was the curious and tasty collection of drinks that they would make at the bar. It was one of the few places I've been to where you can find a Dark-n-Stormy on the menu.

There were many other drinks that stood out in memory, including a whiskey drink that used an actual piece of cooked bacon in it. Strange, but kind of good!
