At the price, it will be interesting to see how long it takes for the 1888 bottles to "sell out".
I don't think it is as much about selling as it is about status. All the big Whisky producers are doing this and now rum has jumped in on the same wagon (i.e. Angostura, Appleton, Bacardi etc).

I get it why they would want to make something fancy for the occasion and that's OK but there is no need for it to be that expensive. It's all about the packaging and marketing not so much about the rum.

I would have to agree that this release is more about the "collectable" more so then the drinkable product.

I am just sharing the latest news and updates on Bundy Rum with the rum enthusiasts worldwide, everyone is entitled to their opinions but not sure the language displayed above by "bundabergrum" is entirely appropriate for such a forum as this.

Lol troj,

I was just giving my opinion, im sure the word "ass" is in the dicktionary, if you are offended by the word you should probably get a word filter on your web browser which changes swear words and other offensive words into more manageable words for you.

Jolipapa,

What we should be talking about is a rum called "beenleigh" rum, they have released a new lineup of rums which taste very nice and are reasonably priced.

@bundabergrum:
You did not understand.
I just mean that if all the rum companies were doing the lobbying you do, this place could no more be called a forum!
And talking about sheer rum, there are so many lovely sunny islands rums I did not try yet, that I'd surely need more than nine lives when the turn comes to any rum from Australia...
Am I clear enough?

It is probably worth noting for the benefit of all reading this thread that neither I nor the user "bundabergrum" are official representatives in any way with the Bundaberg Distilling Company. We both maintain our own separate fan sites. The only official website of BDC is www.bundabergrum.com.au . The website I work on, www.bundabergrumshowcase.com.au is licensed by BDC to use their logos, trademarks and images. Hope this helps with any sort of confusion that there may be

www.bundabergrumcollectors.com is also licenced by BDC to use all of its images and has an extensive range of history on many old bottles.
