It was a new US brand, I don't remember the actual name. Thankfully I remember the shape and general presentation enough to never buy it, should I find it on the shelves. Chip or Jason may be able to let you know in PM.

The line up was a set of Artisan rums from a small distiller called Downslope. Their line up is very unique, coming from a small batch distillation. I received the samples directly from the distillery, and as I like do, I share the samples on Fridays on my deck with friends. Sometimes the samples are awesome, sometimes they are not quite what we are expecting.

In the case of Downslope, their silver rum was actually a solid product with not any real complaints. The aged and flavoured products were not as well received. The overriding thought from everyone is that the product tasted very young. I notice on their website that some of their products are intended to be aged further by the customer in an small oak barrel which I believe comes with the rum. This might account for the lack of distinction in the samples.

On the other hand the samples of Viscaya and Zafra 21 I gave Steve were very well received.
