Bars that appreciate RUM

A growing number of bars appreciate rum, and and we appreciate them.

Default I need a good NYC Bar/RhumRhumRoom?

Im looking for a good NYC bar, the sort of place to have a great cocktail that doesn't involve knowing someone to get in. I was thinking about the rhum rhum room but I don't know where it is. Another one I heard about is Death & Co. Any ideas?

Death & Co is a great place, Flatiron Lounge and Pegu are also very good and you don't have to know anyone to get in though the do get very busy on weekends.
There are also a number of good rum bars in Brooklyn, just a couple of stops on the subway from Manhattan.
Jakewalk, Cotton Club and Caracas Arepas, to name just three.
The RRR is a private bar so you probably won't find it unless you know someone.

RonJames - When are you coming to town?

Ed's list is a good one and there are new bars opening all the time.

As the NYC representative for the MoR, I consider it a heavy responsbility to provide assistance to my fellow rummies - anything ranging from meeting for a few drinks to just providing advice on where to go.

Even though I live in New England, I get to visit friends in the NYC area regularly. My latest place for rum in Manhattan is Cienfuegos, located at 95 Avenue A, on the corner of 6th street(?) Website is cienfuegosny.com First time I went was during Halloween last year. After the totally inventive Village Halloween Parade, it was just too crowded, and I knew I needed a rum break. The place is not easy to find, but you don't need a password to get in. They have food of tapas size and drinks and/or rum tasting. If you don't want tiki punch, which a lot of the couples there seem to order, ask for the rum menu, or just go up to the bar and talk to the bartender. They must have about 125 different rums. Visted there last month and found more rums that I have not tried. And the wait staff and bartender are very friendly and helpful.
