It's a very nice sipping rum, but perhaps not as well rounded as the 18 year old.

It's also cheekily misleading calling it the centenario 21 when the rum is only 15 years old. It's caught out a good few people who've come through this bar

I bought aN FDC 12 for $20 when I was at Hi Time a couple of months ago, and enjoy it. I see that they are no longer advertising the 12, so that was probably a one time buy. Based on that, I picked up a bottle of the 18 for $35 as well, and I note it generally sells for over $40. Both of my bottles are enjoyable sippers, and at those prices, good value, I think. The C21 (15 year) goes for nearer $70 when you can find it; not overwhelmingly expensive, but based on the feedback here, not as good a value either. I should add that $70 is my limit as a rule; I'm just not worth more than that!

The 21 is a very good rum, but pricey. IMHO, the best value is with the 12 or 18.

In South Florida, the FDC 18 is widely available for less than $30. We see the C21 on occasion, last time it was $68. The value of C21 is the rarity, the beautiful bottle and the fact that it will probably not be around forever. The 18 is a good value. In my opinion the entire range of FDC (4, 5, 7, 12, 18) are generally fine rums for their price points. The 7 is not to be overlooked as an everyday premium mixer or enjoyed on the rocks.

I need to make a trip to South Florida. The rum selection and prices sound hard to beat.

Is Flor 21 getting harder and harder to find?

Is it discontinued?

You're definitely paying for the bottle and the fact that it's "collecter's item". Supply around seems to have dried up... I bought two bottles last year before they disappeared. They cost me almost $100 cdn each.

I believe the name is actually Anniversario in the blue bottle. It was released in 2000 to celebrate the millennium. This 15 year old rum has has been discontinued so if you see a bottle and want it you'll probably not find it again.
