Default The 2011 Rum Howler Awards

I have been doing a series of Postings over the past 6 weeks handing out Rumhowler Awards for various spirits which I found worthy.

Excellent write up, quite a year in rum!

I've not heard of Newfoundlander's before, I shall have to try and search some out. Does anyone know of a UK/EU reseller? Checked the usual Whiskey Exchange, Drinkology and Masters of Malt but none have it listed.

Very interesting choices, Arctic Wolf.

Unfortunately, I can't get about half of them. The others are old friends.

I guess the idea is to have something to look forward to.

Thanks Guys

The year really was good, and I was able to try a lot of stuff from out of my own market that I wish could replace on my shelf, like that Panama Red 108. Things are looking great for next year too as I already have dozens of samples committed to me for review on the website, including commitments of samples of 2 - twenty five year Old rums to add to the mix.

I have to make some decisions regarding next year's Rumhowler awards. I try to include all the rums (and other spirits) I have tasted in the past year, but I have been thinking that I maybe should go back and include all the rums I have ever tried so that previous years winners can come back again. It might take a bit of cooperation from industry to get me fresh samples of previously reviewed product, but it would make the awards even better.

Anyway, it looks like the reviews will keep coming and i hope you all keep reading them.

Cheers

Although not an easy task, going back and gathering a sample of each and I agree with you that it would make the awards better, not to mention the more chances we'll have to find and taste them ourselves.

Going through your notes perhaps you can already weed out products that you didn't rate so well so it would be less for the industry to give you samples, less time and "work" for yourself and wife as well as for your liver lol.

Again I do enjoy checking out your ratings when I find a spirit I might want to try. Like the Blu Ray movies I buy I make sure to check the highdefdigest website's review on the Picture Quality before purchasing.
