Default Bambarra & me on TV

I was forced to do a spot for our local TV station this week about Bambarra Reserve's recent success in the Taste of Rum, Puerto Rico. I'm the old guy on the right. To see the video click http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoAW7...e=channel_page
Or to visit the Unofficial Bambarra site click http://www.therumelier.com/id71.html

Excellent!

Is this rum exclusively available in the Turks and Caicos and are there any future plans to release it in Europe for instance?

Did I understand correctly Bambarra does the blending and ageing of the rums or only the blending?

Seems like an interesting new range of rums.

Count,
right now it is only available locally. We are testing the market and considering the future. I think if we did export it would only be the Reserve as there is too much competition in the lower priced rums and we wouldn't get the tax breaks other rums benefit from.
Bambarra does not age the rums, (except for one barrel in my office) they just blend it from aged stocks.
I'm trying to persuade the powers that be that we should look into a much older/single barrel style rum for a very limited production run. Maybe a 12 to 15 year old. The best part of a project like that would be tasting the samples!!!

I like the idea of a Bambarra Single Barrel Rum, too few single barrel offerings out there these days.

Let me know if you need some help in tasting samples.

There's not an old guy to the right, just seasoned. The rum sounds good. I am with Count. We should be able to sample Nice spot of the tube!

Very very well done interview, thought you and the product came off classy. It would be great to have a single barrel, there really isn't much competition in that category when compared to super premium blended rums.

The more I think about it the better it sounds!! I just need to get confirmation from above to start the idea off. Then I need to work on the blend and labels etc. and of course come up with a good name. (I have some ideas for that part) I think I'm going to put some of the 8 year old in the small barrel I had port in, as I have emptied out the rum I had in there and bottled it. It is a lovely mahogany colour now and has a great nose.
