No you can`t! Never tried the Reserve before..and i`m really lucky, i got their only bottle!

The seller is a EBay seller from Germany who i buy my JW&N overproof from, its fast delivery:

There will hopefully be more of the Reserve there..keep an eye open.

You can't go wrong with any of the rums from Appleton. The Reserve is an excellent rum.

I tried it tonight, alongside the Appleton V/X, the Extra (12 yo), Master Blender's Legacy, and the 21 yo. Yes, and Appleton Estate tasting, with Joy Spence.

I haven't quite got my thoughts in order about the whole thing.. .

But basically I found the 8 yo to be one of the nicer ones, but the 12 yo was still probably my favorite of the two.

I found the 8 yo was spicy. I liked that. It had a bit of a nutmeg taste. It had a kind of 'burnt butter' finish, but quite short.

The 12 yo had some of the same spice, but with a richer chocolatey taste. It was more full bodied than the 8 yo and had the same 'burnt butter' finish, but longer.

The V/X was fruity (like dried fruit, but more apricots and orange peel than raisins and such), lively, and not much of a finish.

The weird thing was that I was not that crazy about the 21 yo. Nothing wrong with it, but some of the others just seemed a bit more lively.

I will do a proper write up on the tasting when I get some time.

The 21 is a weird one. For years I thought it was too overpowering and over-aged, and when I told Joy that, years ago, she predicted I might 'grow' into it. She was right.

I prefer the MB Legacy, but love the 21 for sipping
