Old Monk 7 and 12

Earlier this summer I was able to review the Old Monk 7 Year Old Dark Rum and quite liked the strong molasses flavours and rough and tumble character of the rum. What I did not know was that there was a 12 year old version just one province away in British Columbia.

However I just got word that a bottle of the 12 will be coming my way soon. I'll keep you posted on my thoughts. So far my experiences with Indian Rums (and Whiskies) has been very positive.

I tried to place my review of the Old Monk 7 Year Old into the data base today. Unfortunately their appears to be a glitch and the system rejected the review.

I have had this a few times after having a curry in various Indian Restaurants. The Indians are very proud of their Rum - and rightly so! It makes a refreshing Cuba Libre, perfect after a nice Jalfrezi or Madras.

Someday I will buy a bottle to enjoy at home.
