The Kraken Black Spiced Rum
anybody have info on this product? All i know is it's parent company is Proximo Spirits, however there is no info on their website regarding it.
We should be getting it at the bar shortly, all i know bout it is from the advertisement that it is 94 proof. Unsure of origin.

Man, that's a mystery.
I just met with the division head of the company that distributes the other Proximo Spirits to us today, and he didn't mention anything forthcoming.
Keep us posted, I'm curious to know the answer.

I got the Kraken earlier this week. Still unsure of its origins, the bottle says it is made of Caribbean rums. The bottle and label design are great, old fashioned jughandled bottle with a giant kraken on the bottle.
Rum is decent, $15 spiced rum at 94 proof, reminds me of sailor jerry.

I've never heard anything about it, but that's one sharp looking bottle!

Dont get too hyped on the bottle, my bartender knocked the bottle into something and one of the jughandles broke off.

I suspect this is a private label for the Premium Collection Store chain.

For what it's worth Proximo imports Matusalem rums. I look forward to learning more about it. There is a chance that Proximo will pour it the New York Ministry of Rum Festival on October 5th.
