A growing number of bars appreciate rum, and and we appreciate them. |

Wapango - St Louis area (Missouri)
Fiddling around on the web, check out the selection of rums at Wapango, a Latin Style restaurant in upscale Chesterfield, MO just west of Saint Louis.
As luck would have it... I will be in Saint Louis Wednesday night!

What pains me about their menu is the "Build Your Own Mojitos" Not sure why they just dont call them "Choose Your Bacardi Flavor"
I think a great for build your own mojito would be to choose the variety of mint, the form of sweetener, the choice of lime, the variety of rum, and then any additional items like fresh fruits, herbs, and spices. We would do that, but its already tough enough with 15-20 different mojitos, when everybody is ordering a different one!

Adam, I hear ya. I just now noticed that... "Build your own Bacardi Mojito for $4" at the bottom of the menu.
Probably simply following all the marketing buzz (we still see the Bacardi mojito commerical on TV here now and again).
I would say though, their rum selection overall is not too bad, considering what you'd find in pretty much any other standard bar. I guess though since this is in a Pan-Latin restaurant, they're obligated to at least have "some" decent rums available, and they've done a decent job at it.
I find the D'Aristi intriguing and want to give it a try. There's a couple others on there that I've not had that I'm going to try as well.
As luck would have it for me - there is a Drury Inn within walking distance of the restaurant, so that is where I will be staying tomorrow night, so I can sample and enjoy as much as I want (and I LOVE Pan-Latin food as well).
I'll have to come check your place out in Philly some time! I have a co-worker in Sellersville, I'll have to make some excuse to go out and visit him.
And I will WALK to the Wapango - NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE... not even a little!

Come on, this is Missouri we're talking about. In Missouri you're lucky to find all the Bacardi flavors. As an importer I can tell that Missouri isn't exactly ahead of the curve on rum. But just a few miles to the east of East St Louis is a very good liquor store that stocks almost every rum they can get through the more liberal state of Illinois.

Ed, are you referring to Internet Wines in Fairview Heights, IL?
If so, that's where I'm stopping on my way over. Looks like the only place in the state where I might find Brinley's Gold. They show it on the web site. If they do, I'm planning on grabbing a few bottles of Brinley's, maybe the Ango 1919 if it's in stock, and a bottle of One Barrel which I've been eager to try.
Daddy's getting a tax refund for the first time in three years and I'm feeling spendy!
Same guy also owns a fairly good sized store in St Louis, name escapes me at the moment, I'm thinking something like Riddells, Randalls???
