Plantation Single cask finding....

I consider myself an avid plantation rum collector. While some may poke at me for this I love my collection and enjoy the hunt.

However, during the course of my collection recently I had an odd finding that I wanted to bring question to. Maybe someone here has an answer...



Here is the back story of what happened.......

I was in the East Coast and found some single cask plantation rums. I of course bought them all.....

I was then shortly there after in the West coast ..... Found some single cask plantation rums.... Bought them....


Here was the issue... These were both "Exclusive Bottles to the store"

BOTH of these have same Cask finish, age and product were the same for two of these bottles.... So same exact product...

BOTH were listed as being from the SAME single cask...... EX (2/10)


So how can there be two exclusive bottles of the same plantation rum from the same # (2/10) single cask?

Are these not as rare as they make seem? Are there for example 3+ lots of "exclusive release" per cask number and the bottle amount changes depending on the store name stamped on the front and how much of the cask they bought?

I always thought a single cask exclusive rum meant there was 1 cask all the bottles from that cask went to 1 location (as it has been in the past), not chopped up and sent all over with different total bottle numbers depending on where you bought it.
